Living the life we were designed to live means that we are bringing to the world the gifts and talents that were given to us by our Creator.
“When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up”, asked the teacher of the class I am taking. A lot of people struggle, including myself, trying to find out what we are supposed to be doing with our gifts, talents and abilities in business and in life. Our answers to this question will reveal what we liked doing as a child and could point us in the direction of finding out what we are good at.
I will ask you the same question, “WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?” Are you living your life in your gifts and calling?
Let me tell you a story. When I was in the 5th grade, I attended church every time the doors opened but not with my family. There was a 2nd grade school teacher at my school who would come by and get me and take me with her to church. Isn’t it amazing how God works things out? My whole foundation was built on Christ and I had no idea that it was happening. I was called the “preacher girl” a few times in a derogatory way but I didn’t understand why. All I knew was that I wanted everyone to know about my Jesus. I would sit and draw and “doodle” HIS name all over my papers, schoolwork, etc. “Jesus Loves Me” was EVERYWHERE! (Tears are flowing as I remember this stuff.) Fast forward a few years. We moved away from that small town for a couple of years and then I came back to the same school. I was changed during that time. When I went back to my “old” school, I was smoking, drinking, cussing and I was more like everybody else on the outside. It didn’t matter. I still didn’t “fit-in”. I had a calling on my life and somewhere smothered way down deep inside of me, I knew it.
After we left my home town, I never went to church again until after I was married, around the age of 30. So, did you notice that I just breezed over about half of my life? Yeah, I noticed it. That part was full of pain, doubt, and unbelief. I don’t think I was living during that time. I was just existing.
To answer my own question that I started this with, I still don’t know WHAT I want to be when I grow up but I do know WHERE I want to be and WHO I want to be with and WHY I want to be there. All of it can be summed up in one word, JESUS!
What about you? Are you living your life or are you just going through the motions?
We tend to think that if we withdraw into our shell that it’ll save us from being hurt anymore.
WAKE UP! THAT’S A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL!
If you feel like you just got punched in the gut with that statement, it’s probably for you. Your ENEMY wants you to hunker down and hide and live in fear of the pain. I am here to tell you with the full authority of the Lord Jesus honoring my words:
Jesus WILL heal you and make you whole again. I promise.
Listen to me very carefully and let this sink into your spirit. You are loved. YOU are loved. YOU are loved completely. Your Daddy God adores you and he gently, softly, lovingly wants to gather you in his arms and hold you until you feel safe and secure and ready to face the world again….no matter how long it takes, no matter what you have done, no matter how much pain you are in.
I pray right now, in the mighty name of Jesus, that the Holy Spirit fill the place where you are and that you feel the POWER of his love. God, breathe on them as you did on Adam, that they might become refreshed and alive again! Give them as much as they can take right now, Lord! I want them to know you, in the fullness of your LOVE. I ask it now and I thank you for it, In Jesus’ Name! Amen
If you know that you are where you are supposed to be in life and doing what you should be doing, I celebrate with you! I encourage you to fight through all strongholds and go over every stumbling block in your way.
If you are just going through the motions of living, there is no condemnation. Let me encourage you to start talking to Jesus. He will guide you in the right direction.
- Ask, then LISTEN.
- Ask, listen, and LOOK for the answers to show up.
- Ask, listen, look, and EXPECT great things to happen as you learn to believe and trust.
- Ask, listen, look, expect, and RECEIVE! You must learn to receive from God.
It’s all yours for the taking, like a buffet table spread out before you. Take from HIM! He wants you to. 🙂
Blessings from our house to yours,
