Covenant

Even though there were many instances where Covenants were made in the Bible, most of the time when we hear it today, it’s the Old or New Testaments that are being referred to.

I wanted to start by giving the definition of Covenant but as I looked, I found that even the definitions are biased according to whether it’s a Jewish dictionary, a secular dictionary, or somebody that has no idea what they’re talking about, HA!

Open Bible Covenant of Grace

Covenant – A covenant is a contract or agreement between two or more parties.  Covenant is how God has chosen to communicate with us, to redeem us, and give us eternal life in Jesus.

Look at the text to determine whether it’s the time of the Old or New Covenant. Keep in mind that God IS Love and his perfect plan was corrupted in the garden when Sin entered into the world. When I searched for the first use of the word “Covenant” in the Bible, I found it here >

Genesis 6:18 – But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

Old Covenant – also called to Old Testament or when the Law & Commandments were given to Moses to give to the people. This is the covenant between God and man. Man was NEVER able to keep this covenant. The Law was given so that man would see that he needed help and to KNOW that he needed a Savior & Deliverer. This covenant is also referred to as the Ministry of Death that was written and engraved on stones. (See 2 Corinthians 3:7)

And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. Exodus 24:7

New Covenant – also called the New Testament which actually is a Covenant between God and His Beloved Son, Jesus!  This testament begins after the Death, Burial and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are called the four Gospels but they are written about the times while Jesus was alive and walking the Earth. A last Will and Testament begins when the Testator dies, right?

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21

Angels Among Us

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

Entertaining Angels Unaware

When the Holy Bible says something, I believe it. Plain and Simple. I may not understand it all but I do believe God’s Word.

Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Since the first verse is talking about brotherly love, the second verse continues with that thought. Let’s always be found being the body of Christ and acting as He would act.

I know that there are angels around us because the Bible talks about them. God created Angels. There are angels about the throne of God crying Holy, Holy, Holy all the time.

There are also demonic angels. Satan was cast down out of Heaven because he wanted the position of God’s Son, Jesus.

Here’s one thing that I want to set straight. When people die, they do NOT become angels. Humans do not ever change into angels and angels do not become human.

I realize that people tell children that when someone dies, they will be in Heaven watching over them. While this part may be true, they will not become an angel and watch over loved ones here on Earth. Since I haven’t died and entered into Heaven yet, I don’t have those details.

However I do know that Born-Again humans will receive a glorified body. It will not be an angelic body with wings.

This is just something to think about…

Tell me your stories of angels.

Blessings,

Michelle

Vision

A Vision is a powerful weapon and if you have a clear vision, there is nothing that can stop you.

A future and a vision

Vision Statement – An aspirational description of what an organization would like to achieve or accomplish.

When you bring your gifts and talents to the world, that’s when the natural and the supernatural come together. BAM!!!

It’s at this point that lives are changed. Marriages are restored. Families are reunited. Championships are won. Forgiveness takes place. Healing begins to happen. Peace blows through like a mighty rushing wind. Decisions become easier… like water off a duck’s back. (I really tried but I couldn’t resist that one.)

Here is a definition of Vision – (from thefreedictionary.com)

1a.The faculty of sight; eyesight: poor vision.     1b. Something that is or has been seen.

2. Unusual competence in discernment or perception; intelligent foresight: a leader of vision.

I read through several of the definitions and I really didn’t see one that described or defined the POWER of the word “Vision” that I was looking for so I went to the KingJamesBibleOnline.org. I searched for the word and found it is listed 129 times. Don’t worry. I am just going to pick a few just to get the full meaning of VISION.

Genesis 15:1

After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

Numbers 12:6

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a visionand will speak unto him in a dream.

Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Daniel 2:19

Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

Matthew 17:9

And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

Luke 24:23

And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.

Acts 10:17

Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate,

Acts 18:9

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

It’s my hope to expand your vision so you can get started on the path to living a peaceful, debt-free lifestyle.
